Homan Lake is located in beautiful Iron River Township, Michigan, roughly five miles north of the Michigan/Wisconsin border.

There are several hospitals and medical facilities in the area, including Aspirus Iron River Hospital (a twenty-three-minute drive) and Aspirus Eagle River Hospital (a forty-four-minute drive). The nearest airport is King’s Land O'Lakes Airport, which offers commercial flights all year long.

The lake is considered one of the most popular fisheries in Michigan and has species of bass, black bass, crappie, grayling, largemouth bass, Northern pike, perch, pike, walleye, and yellow perch for anglers to catch. In the winter, ice fishing is a huge sport on the lake.
